Our Office Manager Amanda has worked in the medical field for about 16 years, after receiving her Medical Assistant diploma in 2007. She continued her education with a Bachelor’s in Science in Business Management (with a concentration in healthcare) in 2017, and a Master’s in HR (with concentration in healthcare) in 2023.
After spending the last 10 years in pain management, she is familiar with patient needs and questions. Amanda is hardworking and passionate about patient care. Her favorite part of her job is watching patients leave with a smile on their face, knowing that they have been well taken care of. She also enjoys the sense of camaraderie with co-workers that comes from knowing everyone has the same goal: the patients’ wellbeing.
Born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana, Amanda has been in Texas for about 26 years (basically a native). When not at The PainSmith, you can find her attending one of her 17-year-old twins’ band, choir, or theater performances or hanging out with her two daughters, ages 28 and 20. She also enjoys kayaking with her amazing husband of 6 years, as well as amateur bird watching and all things crafty!
Our referral and authorization specialist Kathleen comes to us from the dental field, where she worked for the past 7 years. She was excited to move into the medical field with The PainSmith.
Her favorite part of the job is helping patients navigate their authorization process and ensure they are getting the care they deserve. Her customer service skills and patience are valuable tools in her position and we love the warmth and sincerity she brings to the team.
Originally from Laredo, TX, she has lived in San Antonio for the past 8 years. In her spare time, she enjoys watching K-dramas and spending time with her dog Hailee. Kathleen loves to try out different types of food around town with her husband & friends, and learning new languages – she is currently studying Japanese and Korean.
Our MA Maria worked in the medical field for the last 12 years before joining The PainSmith team.
Friendly and caring, Maria enjoys interacting with our patients during their appointments. Her customer service experience and fluency in Spanish are invaluable to our office.
Maria originally hails from Illinois, but has lived in San Antonio for the last 13 years. She enjoys spending time with family & friends, doing crafts, and traveling in her spare time.
Our receptionist Alizabeth is excited to start her journey in the medical field. With both her parents also working in the medical industry, it was an easy decision to follow in their footsteps.
Alizabeth loves interacting with all the amazing patients that come into the office, whether on the phone or in person. She loves to help others, and her previous customer service experience has been so helpful in her role as receptionist. She is passionate and dedicated, and always tries to make the best of every situation.
A San Antonio, Texas native, she graduated from Samuel Clemens High School, then attended the Texas Connections Academy of Houston. In her spare time she enjoys baking and spending time with her family and pets.
